This week I am joined by the newly appointed Chairman of Colorado Bowhunters Association Henry Ferguson. To be honest we the pool of candidates must have been pretty slim to elect a guy with an IG handle called @bigchiefwhackabuck but who am I to judge…
Henry is a solid dude that has been on the podcast before and is a notorious big buck killer. In fact that’s why I wanted to get him on. In a state “overrun” with new hunters, he and his family seem to get it done on great animals every year. Henry will be the first to tell you he’s not trying to out hike everyone or go 10 miles in. He is consistent and knows what to look for. In this podcast we dive into some of the frameworks he uses on early and late season mule deer to be consistent. We also dive into advice for new hunters and how to avoid getting frustrated with all of the pressure.
As Chairman, Mr.Ferguson is dealing with some of the big changes the Colorado Commission is working on for the 2022 season. With the death of an archery hunter this year during the muzzleloader overlap, the state is looking into options to reduce this risk. One of the options on the table is a new hunter orange requirement for archery season. The Bowhunters Association would love your feedback as hunters on this and is asking you to take a quick survey. Please do them a favor and put in your thoughts here.
