For all of you thinking I caught the mule deer bug with my back to back Colorado and Montana bucks, let me just say that this podcast got me all kinds of fired up for late-season bulls. Stephen Rosso has had a banner year and was on the podcast early this year after he found archery success on his Wyoming mountain goat hunt. Rosso is a damn good hunter and when he drew one of the premium late-season Wyoming tags I knew he would capitalize on the opportunity.
With early October snows things were definitely migrating, Rosso and his hunting partner made some good assumptions and put themselves in the thick of things. In this podcast, Rosso shares the epic adventure and tough conditions they faced while packed deep into the backcountry. We also talk lessons learned and tips for keeping your head in the game on the tough mentally demanding hunts.
We also talk about my thoughts on Wyoming elk strategy and how they differ from about 90% of other hunters putting in for Wyoming elk.
