From Addiction to Hunting Marketing Manager at YETI with Sloane Brown

Sloane is as solid of a human as I have met. Sloane’s journey from addicted to Heroin, to the top of the hunting industry is truly remarkable and is a testament to the man he has crafted himself into. A testament to his character.

You often hear that the outdoors can save addicts’ lives and that there is real power in the outdoors and the outdoors community. I think it’s safe to say that Sloane is a great example of this and how there is life after addiction. Sloane worked his way up to what some would call the top of the industry and somehow did that without stepping on anyone to get there.

My biggest takeaway from Sloane’s journey is that relationships matter in the long run. You never know who you will meet and how they will play a role in your journey, that is life.

As a SF soldier, he had honed his skills in the field, and it seemed like he was able to transfer those skills to the world of elk hunting with ease. However, as anyone who has tried elk hunting knows, it is not for the faint-hearted. Elk hunting can be unpredictable, and it often has a mind of its own.

Despite the challenges that he faced, Justin persevered and never gave up. He put in the hard work and dedication required to become a successful hunter, and it paid off in spades. He was able to hone his skills and techniques over time, and he eventually found himself in the position to put his hands on his first bull.

Justin’s journey is a testament to the power of persistence and the importance of never giving up on your dreams.
