In this episode of Muley Monday, I am joined by Dustin Wittwer of Team Backcountry joins me to talk early season Mule deer tips and tactics. Dustin and his brother have put in their fair share of great hunts and not so great hunts. We talk about current trends with backcountry hunters and how to get away from the crowds. We also talk about what to do when you get to your spot and realize you are definitely not alone. Last year in Nevada that’s exactly what Dustin ran into and they had to think outside the box to find deer away from the crowds. We also cover knowing when to call it and just pull out of an area before you waist too many days. This can be a hard decision when you have to invest the time and energy into one particular area. I know many of us have been there and have struggled with whether to keep grinding or go in search of greener pastures.
