Todays episode is a special one, as todays guest a bit of a legend throughout the hunting community, though I am sure he would never tell you that. Randy Johnson is a world renown sheep guide in souther Utah and still gets after it harder then most 18 year olds. I truly hope I am able to spend as much time exploring and adventuring as Randy when I am his age. I remember, years ago reading stories about a buck that randy had found and was hunting named The Buck of Justice. The buck and the story always intrigued me. I am sure many of you have heard the story before but to me it never gets old. There is just something about knowing there is a chance that somewhere out there is a freak buck hiding that no one else knows about that gets me excited to explore into unknown grounds.
We also chat about his sheep slam and setting goals in hunting to push yourself farther yet balancing life and hunting for the marathon not the sprint. I always look to those who are where I want to be for advice and truly hope to be as humble and accomplished as Randy. I have a ton of respect for Randy and I can’t thank him enough for jumping on the show. If you have any questions for Randy, feel free to send him an email at Randy@highdesertsheepguides.com.

Lately with all the discussion around public lands I have been on a Theodore Roosevelt binge, and listening to every book I can. One of my favorites, and a great starting point would have to be The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt, by Edmund Morris which is one of my favorite biographies of Mr. Roosevelt.
