Hey guys, welcome to The Rich Outdoors hunting podcast. Where we break down the tips and tactics of top hunters. Today is no exception, as Corey Jacobson is not only a great elk hunter and elk caller, but also has the ability to teach other hunters and really explain how he thinks about situations. I am excited to have Corey on today to pick his brain about selecting new areas to hunt, scouting pre-season vs in-season, his thoughts on secluded backcountry vs mobility of road systems, as well as to also talk about his new University of Elk Hunting course. There are many great elk hunters out there, but not many that can really teach and explain quite like Corey can. The 8 time World Champion elk caller knows a thing or two about calling elk. Corey has the ability to teach someone how to use and master elk diaphragm calls like nobody else. If you have ever had a hunting buddy try to explain to you how to use a diaphragm, you know exactly what I am referring to. Corey’s step by step system on how to use a diaphragm is the best I have seen thus far in really helping someone graduate to using diaphragm calls with confidence. Corey and I had been chatting and I had an idea of what I wanted to pick his brain about before this upcoming elk season, but after I went through his new University of Elk Hunting course, my mind was blown at the amount of content within the course. In fact, there is so much detail and information that I completely changed the direction, I had so many new questions to ask. My hat’s off to Corey and his team for truly creating the most comprehensive elk hunting how-to available today. University of Elk Hunting is something I truly and honestly believe will help anybody, including myself, to be a better hunter this year. I have recommended and even demanded friends to take the course since I went through it. The course is the best one hundred dollars you will spend on elk hunting this year, I promise you. Ironically, I recommended Elk University to a friend and they asked me if it is really worth a hundred bucks. I laughed, because in today’s world of hunting gear, and the ridiculous costs, it is one of the best deals money can buy. A lot of guys like to buy the newest, fanciest gear that comes out, but they won’t go the extra mile, literally and figuratively, to truly raise their odds of success. Equipment and gear wear out, but knowledge and experiences never will. If University of Elk Hunting makes you successful on one hunt in the next 10 to 20 years of elk hunting, then it was money very well spent right? I sincerely believe that things like studying these podcasts, Elk101.com, and Corey’s University of Elk Hunting course are far better money spent than the newest $500 dollar pair of boot laces. Corey is a wealth of elk hunting knowledge, and I always enjoy the chance to pick his brain and become a little better of an elk hunter for it. If you guys want to increase your odds of success this year, I highly recommend the University of Elk Hunting online course, and for The Rich Outdoors Podcast listeners we are hooking you up with 30% off the course by using coupon code TRO30. Hope you guys enjoy today’s chat with Corey Jaconsen and be sure to check out the the University of Elk Hunting at Elk101.com to get more great info. [Read more…]
There’s an old saying that 10% of elk hunters kill 90% of the elk in DIY elk hunting. Well we sit down with Zach Bowhay and chat about what the 10%, like himself, do differently to be successful in elk hunting. I love that Zach is a well rounded hunter and knows how to get it done in different ways and is not afraid to try something new. We talk about his new found success and love for stalking elk, his success with implementing decoys, his favorite gear, and much more.
